ANDROMEDA

Andromeda is a research project to develop analysis techniques for quantifying nanoplastics, microplastics, and their degradation in the marine environment. More information on the project can be found HERE.

Task 2.2 involves field sampling by citizens. The yechnique will be made accessible via a mobile app. The finalised system will be able to count large microplastics in a given image, and extract parameters related to dimensions, roughness, and colour.

FactSheets about Microplastics can be downloaded in Maltese, English, French and German.

FactSheets about the Andromeda App can be downloaded in Maltese, English, French and German.
